China Grants Visa Free Access To 75 Countries

China has granted visa free access to citizens of seventy five countries starting in mid July two thousand twenty five, its National Immigration Administration confirmed.

Wang Zhizhong, the agency’s director, said the scheme combines unilateral and mutual visa exemption agreements with most eligible visits capped at thirty days.

He also said that visa free transit has expanded to fifty five countries allowing up to two hundred forty hours in China without a visa for onward travel.

The rollout aligns with China’s fourteenth Five Year Plan spanning two thousand twenty one to two thousand twenty five and follows earlier expansions to Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Central Asia.

Tourism officials say more than twenty million foreign visitors entered China without a visa in twenty twenty four, roughly twice the figure from the previous year, reflecting a rapid tourism rebound.

Travel agencies and guides report surging bookings especially from European and Asian tourists and welcome the reform as a boost to China’s soft power and global appeal.

While many African countries are not yet included, analysts see the opening as part of a broader push to foster global engagement and economic recovery.
