Corporate Affairs Commission exposes 247 firms for fake RC numbers
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has delisted 247 companies for operating with fake Registered Certificate (RC) numbers, warning Nigerians against transacting with them.
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has removed 247 companies from its official database after discovering that they were operating with false Registered Certificate (RC) numbers.
The announcement was made through a public notice issued on Friday via the Commission’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. According to the CAC, the affected businesses were never legally registered as limited liability companies. The RC numbers linked to them were never assigned by the Commission, meaning the names and RC numbers have now been permanently deleted from Nigeria’s company registry.
“The general public is hereby informed that the 247 companies listed below have not been duly registered as limited liability companies. The Registered Certificate (RC) numbers allegedly ascribed to them have not been assigned to anyone of them.
