Renowned businessman and Pro-Chancellor of Adeleke University, Dr. Deji Adeleke, has completed construction of a 1250-megawatt power plant in Ajebamidele, Ondo State. The power facility is now awaiting connection to the national gas grid before it can begin operations.
Speaking at the 11th undergraduate and 7th postgraduate convocation ceremony of Adeleke University in Ede, Osun State, Dr. Adeleke announced that the plant will employ more than 2,000 engineers and technical workers. Dr. Adeleke went on to criticize Nigeria’s electoral process, citing vote selling and the use of violence during elections as factors scaring off foreign investors. According to him, Nigeria’s inability to hold credible elections has damaged the country’s image and is directly affecting job creation.
